Spring Storms: Versions of a Perfect Saturday

SHOW Beauty Collection

One of many perfect Saturdays, starting with a lovely train down the Hudson River. I noticed a few online magazines offer advice and suggestions on how to spend a perfect Saturday in Manhattan, with brunch and then a night on the town. And to follow up, here’s my version of a perfect Saturday.

Coming down from upstate, I have to make the most of my limited time in the city and hence make note of any special events coming up. On this Saturday, you have a Pantone Universe Pop-Up at the Big Screen Plaza in Midtown to celebrate the Orchid color of the year, with beauty touch-up and surprises from the new make-up collection.

Bumble & Bumble hair styling and a complimentary Orchid polish for members of the beauty insider program at Sephora await. A few blocks away, on 34th Street, a Beauty Scene Blowout in the beauty department at Macy’s flagship store hosted by Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Further up the island, you have a few more days of drinking chocolate and marshmallows available at Sprinkles Cupcakes on Lexington, along with a delicious Cuban cupcake. Another sweet treat, a styling session from Show Beauty hair care products on the 5F Contemporary level at Bergdorf to compliment the Khirma Eliazov handbags event and personal appearance.

Indie Lee skincare presents it’s collection at Henri Bendel, including the Squaline Facial Oil derived from olives. Based on it’s countless positive reviews on indielee.com, it looks like it’s worth picking up this facial oil, along with the cream mask and toner from the collection.

Burberry Beauty Booth takes place at Saks Fifth to top off the Contemporary Week events of the prior weekend and gives customers a chance to preview English Rose, the Spring/Summer 2014 make-up collection with selfies.

And then comes the beauty rest, best part of a perfect Saturday.
