On Sunday, the north-side neighborhood of Roscoe Village hosted a wedding showcase, where wedding vendors and wedding boutiques opened their doors and welcomed in Brides and Grooms.
It turned out to be a sunny afternoon, despite the storm predictions and a small crowd gathered at Volo Restaurant for an intimate reception. I enjoyed the spread of bubbly & hors d’oeuvres presented by Volo Restaurant at 2008 West Roscoe Street.
Prosciutto skewers, chicken skewers, shrimp ceviche, salads galore, cheese plates, chocolate mouse, the same delightful bites you might find at a wedding reception, to compliment this theme! I had a chance to taste cupcakes from Tipsy Cakes from their cupcake tower and take home a box of assorted mini-cupcakes, and also taste Give Me Some Sugar cupcakes to enjoy with champagne, and a precious cupcake take-home.
Boutiques in this showcase, like Crush, a trendy women’s clothing store hosted a bridal styling service Deco, and Cinnamon Boutique, another women’s clothing store, for an older crowd, hosted gentlemen’s styling service, the Trunk Club.
It seems the most wedding related boutique would be Meringue at 2207 West Roscoe Street, offering vintage bridal gowns and the cutest accessories! The perfume collection is lovely, a unique line I have not seen elsewhere.
Some of the items promoted by this showcase include “vintage wedding dresses/custom veils, invitations and stationery, custom guest books and “day of” accessories, flowers, bridal shower and bachelorette venues, ceremony/reception and rehearsal options, custom cakes and desserts, photography, salon/spa and nail services, “day of” jewelry, favors, honeymoon consulting, resort wear, bridal boot camp, and more!” as suggested by Volo Restaurant.
