The Makeup Show Chicago Press Preview and Cosmetics Press Samples ♥︎

imageComing into town from New York City, The Makeup Show Chicago showed up at the Bridgeport Art Center this weekend. I visited this show once before in Manhattan, and I’m happy to experience in my home city of Chicago.

The media preview took care of my questions about the brands, beauty trends, and new products presented by celebrity makeup artist, James Vincent. Of course, dark and wine lips, gold tinted skin and accents on lips and eyes, and more natural products coming into the beauty scene!

During The Makeup Show Chicago media preview on Saturday morning, beauty and lifestyle bloggers took home a Temptu tote with press samples from brands participating in the show. Press samples consisted of the following:

. Crown Brush oil control blotting paper, crease/shadow dual brush, eye marker, brow blade
. Static Nails gel effect manicure
. Cinema Secrets makeup brush cleaner
. Gleam by Melanie Mills radiant dust
. Nurturing Force liner shadow sealer
. NARS makeup palette holder and audacious mascara
. Elevation Lashes false lashes in Euphoria
. Make Up For Ever lash show natural impact
. Kevyn Aucoin matte lip color bloodroses
. Embryolisse lait-creme concentre
. Bamboo blending brush and sponge blending brush
. Mustaev maxi volume mascara and liquid liner brush pen
. Senna light tricks highlighter duo and pencil sharpener

Browsed a few of the vendors, like Clare Blanc, and spoke with founders behind Static Nails, and looked at new color palettes from Inglot Cosmetics.

imageStatic Nails came out with a manicure system with reusable nails in fresh patterns, like one I took home, a gel effect in Breakfast With Audrey, a soft powdery blue. These make sense to be, since you can resuse them, or dispose if you need to. I’m going to apply them this week for more media previews and tastings!

imageimageI took home some Care About You mineral face powder in Hug Me from Clare Blanc, a new mineral-based cosmetics line from Poland. I’m happy to see more natural products at the show, as this constitutes my focus and interest!

Thank you so much to The Makeup Show for the press tickets and press samples for detailed review by Oak Lovely Beauty.
