What Would Darth Vader Take Home from The Makeup Show? ♥︎

This is the droid you are looking for, actually it’s better. ♥︎

The Makeup Show, hailing from New York, returns this year to the Fulton Market District. On November 12-13, Revel prepares to be turned into a beauty wonderland. From the previous years show, models were dolled, dusted, and shimmered, and this year, glitter continues to be a focus! I’m most excited to visit the show’s opening preview, for press and bloggers to discover new products and trends for the upcoming seasons.

One of my discoveries from last show, Static Nails, returns this year and I’m looking to see their new re-usable nail collections. I wore them back in November to the cookbook launch at Fig & Olive, a shimmer mint color. Now, my natural nails are quite long and it will be interesting to see if the length of these nails covers my own!

This show features two days of educational workshops and seminars, and deeply discounted beauty products for stocking up your beauty kit! Brands coming to the show: MAKE UP FOR EVER, TEMPTU, Kevyn Aucoin, NARS, Mario Badescu Skincare, Kat Von D Beauty, NYX Professional Make Up, Ellis Faas, Inglot Cosmetics, Senna Cosmetics, MAC, and more.

Make Up For Ever, the shows’ diamond sponsor presents new shades of concealer, with a second skin formula, four of the shades counter under-eye discoloration. Lip Fever features a red lip balm, blush, and lipstick. Glossy and buttery, velvety and matte, lightweight and opaque, respectively for each of the formulas.

One of the keynote speakers, Mario Tricoci speaks his mind on “A Career In Beauty” on the second day of the show, this coming Sunday from 10:30am-noon, about the beauty industry of course and his re-invention of the modern day salon and spa concept! I recently attended the Designer Launch event this summer, hosted by Glossed and Found, and Boldface Chicago, and frequent their nail bar!

Last year, I attended the preview night, before the press preview during the show. I took home exquisite eyelashes and I enjoyed seeing the more artistic and high-concept brands. This year, I’m loving subtle and neutral, I have been doing mostly neutral browns, mauves, taupes, and sandy colors on both eyes and lips, also nails, thanks to lovely Cowshed for their many neutral and dim shades!

Back in summer, I experimented more with darker eye shadows, more pigment in the crease and dark black liners, cat-eyes and voluminous mascara. Nude lips mostly, the faded out concealer look! Since then, I been opting for more brown and cream eye shades, thanks to the Cose eye and cheek palette, and a glossy soft nude or soft grey lip! Messy, twisted eyelashes, and eye brighteners for contrast!
