You had me at ice. cream. festival. I love ice cream & besides going to the beach in the mornings before work, this is one of the simple pleasures I enjoy about summer, especially summer in Chicago. It’s a treat to just walk down the street with a dripping & melting slushy cream-filled waffle cone, to refresh and find relief from a blistering sun in a city that emits solely frigid air for a majority of the year.
I’m savoring these little sweet moments of summer. & this feels like such a pairing, I have been meaning to check out and visit the Shore Club since it’s opening last summer along Lake Shore & North Avenue Beach & since they only stay open for a few warmer months of the year, have yet to visit. This ice cream social takes place next week on Monday evening, the 13th of August from 5-10pm at the Shore Club, 1603 North Lake Shore. You can find tickets for the festival here!
Some of these vendors I have heard of & have been on my list to visit, like Frio Gelato at their Southport boutique location or a marshmallow boutique in Roger’s Park, called XO Marshmallow that I have been to, which also carries gourmet flavored marshmallows & custom s’mores. & you can find one of their in-store events listed in my calendar, it’s this week, mind you.
Churros from Xurro Factory & I wouldn’t mind a ♥︎ -shaped churro, just saying. It looks like the marshmallow boutique above does in fact carry ice cream, to compliment their marshmallow flavors, & some of the ice cream festival vendors compliment or pair with ice cream, as opposed to offering ice cream products. Frio will offer it’s alfa-lato, pictured, which is a traditional Argentine cookie made with corn meal and filled with dulce de leche, chocolate, or in this case, ice cream!
One last confirmed ice cream vendor, Frozen Happiness, made with natural ingredients and offering sorbetto, gelato, and vegan ice cream products. Besides ice cream & complementary vendors, Kyoto Black & Javaya are confirmed as coffee purveyors, & with lastly Nothing Bundt Cakes offering bundt cakes of course, & Son of a Butcher by Whisk. I believe I’ve tasted their confetti cake flavor very-sweet bundt cake, from the Belmont shop.
Thank you so much for press tickets to the Ice Cream Social & press information and product photographs, for detailed coverage by Oak Lovely Beauty!
